Finally, golden mangoes

A family friend of ours took three weeks to go through several varieties and multiple tastings before delivering a case of haphoos for me late last night. And even with all the anticipation that I had stored up, they smelled incredible.

Here is a picture of what one looks like - baked to golden perfection in the sweltering Indian heat. There is a great burst of flavor and nostalgia wrapped up in each bite.

Gotta love the steel thali. Such a far cry from the mango chunks sold at Costco!

wow..mouth watering picture..you just want to share half plate with us..I heard export started this week..Have to find out if Devon,Chicago had them already.
