A murderous writer

In Robert Kaplow's absurd novel Who's Killing the Great Writers of America?, Steve Martin goes around killing famous writers - among them Sue Grafton, Danielle Steel, Curtis Sittenfeld and Tom Clancy. Stephen King, convinced he will be Martin's next victim, descends into paranoia.

In the NY Times, Cindy Adams reports that Martin is not amused with this potrayal and has had his ICM agent try to kill the book. But Phoenix Books is due to put the book in stores June 1.
