Indian Idol 3: Who will be eliminated on September 8?

So last week we finally said bye to Ankita. We're down to three boys - one who seems to never be in any kind of danger (Prashant), another who comes close to leaving each week (Emon) and the third who has been appointed winner by the judges already (Amit).

PRASHANT !!!!
I can bet that Prashant is going to win!
I love all 3 voices...but what i admire most abt Prashant is that he is not a trained vocalist or singer, and despite severe criticism from the judges, he is calm, he has improved a great deal in singing and his performance, no big drama and tears and no extreme emotion like all other drama kings n queens of indian idol 3 top 10's. He is naively innocent, one singer whose voice makes our hearts melt. General people love his nature, his smile, and are appreciating his efforts.
They know that he is the one who can excel far better if given the opportunity.
Despite all the inside politics going through SONY and what not ( they tried all possible ways to let his popularity down because they want a POP sensation to market their sales.. someone like Emon, who is good looking, and Ankita, who is a solid performer: They made Prashant act like a security guard so that his own fans would turn him down, failed to mention his code and didnt even mention that SMS code is changed after his perfomance in 10th gala, religion/region n nationality biased judges who do not see how far he has come or has achieved but instead try pulling his leg .. etc), it is his soothing voice, gentle nature and carefree attitude that allure the general people! It is not true that only people from his region or his local people are voting for him enormously. The whole of india has this opportunity to choose their IDOL. They have chosen him so far because of these rare qualities that the other contestants do not possess and not just because only the people from Darjeeling or police force or his fans are voting for him enormously.
If given the time and opportunity and even 2/5th of the vocal training that Emon or Amit had, Prashant can become the no. 1 singer in India...
I personally feel that his voice reminds me of kumar sanu and that I feel that i would not miss kumar sanu that much when I listent to him.

THanks for reading...

prasant represents true india . he is simple no show off like other contestants . he is jantas man . the stupid judges criticize him badly . they are trying what ever they can say so prasanth will be eliminated . but he is cool and performs well . even if he sings with sur then these stupid judges will say the song is easy.
we want one among us to become the idol .
prasant is down to earth , he should win

if others are good go and sing in the film world . but indian idol 2007 will be prasanth .

god bless him

Anon and vee, I enjoyed your take on Prashant's popularity. And I think you are right.

Prashant's window to train in music has passed. The winner has to hit the ground running. Sony wants a finished product.

Good point, Anon.

Thank's Aspi. That was me...

why do people go on about prashant being untrained when amit has never received any formal training himself? he still manages to sing brilliantly. sadly, going by the enormous support prashant gets from his hometown, he will probably be the next indian idol. we'll have a mediocre singer (albeit with a new voice) who lacks communication skills, isn't fluent in english and doesn't have anything that sets him apart from the next man. a find indeed.

I don't care if Emon sounds like Sonu Nigam or Sonu sounds like Emon. I thought Emon was offkey many times during the Kal Ho Na Ho song. Is he a "trained" singer? So much fuss about singers who are ordinary, below-ordinary and well-below-ordinary. None of the three has any chance of making it as a playback singer.

Quite true. Good luck to all of them but I'll be surprised too if any of them get regular work in playback.

amit and emon ordinary? i don't find SRGMP singers any extra-ordinary though they're assured work in playback singing. i'm listening to junaid's gustakh dil right now; amit is singing this song in the upcoming gala. let's see how he fares.

Who cares if Prashant lacks communication skills or isn't fluent in English. It doesnt Matter. Does Udit know good English? Still he sings well in all the regional languages. Emons Voice is not matured enough. He should have been eliminated in last gala. Amits voice is good but only for Soft Songs like RD Burman. Prashant always selects the tough songs (may be not the hit songs which amit and emon select) and sings very well. His audition is extraordinary. I am Glad Janta doing the good judgement all over and voting for Prashant.

Prashant has greater chances to win.Not b'coz he is better singer than Amit - b'coz many think he is a better human being than anyone on that show.hmmm

In a competition where your performance - main focus of which is your singing - it is unfortunate that we would have to sacrifice quality in the name of 'janta's choice'.
Why not someone give Prashant a nice break with his 'career as a playback singer' and let the real singers fight it out in the finals!
Happens only in India!

I used to love this overweight guy... but I HATE ADNAN SAMI from now on!

i know amit seems to have no flaw in singing.. but why r u giving prashant a hard time telling him he has flaws in singing.. cud have done better n blah blah..? did u even listen to his songs on sep 7th?
i am mad at adnan sami because he gave the most beautiful song to amit paul and he discriminated the others.
if u were asked to choose among kora kagaz tha yeh man mera, or ek ladki bhigi bhagi si , or yeh jo mohabbat hai , what would you choose if you were in their position? obviously kora kagaz tha yeh mann mera because just look at the lyrics and meaning of that song .. it has so much TADAP in it. the other two songs, though popular, do not touch the Indian Janata's heart as much as Kora kagaz does.

I hate you ADNAN SAMI for being so biased! were u biased to Prashant just coz he is a BUDDHIST??? or r u jealous of him??? and what is that comment abt prashant? don't u have ears u "big fat" turned into "mediocre fat" bulb ??? what does this Adnan think of himself? SON OF A GUN!

if it's all about being a "good human being", can we please have a reality show that looks for the next mother teresa? and what gives people the right to judge that amit isn't as good a human being as prashant. sheesh...

Aspi said...

Anon, that's funny. The SRGMP judges do carry the good human being thing a little too far. But there is some truth to this: my Chinese friend always tells me "luck is in your character"
