I think Aspi should have not posted this picture.Least expected. If you visit any other site you can read people humiliating the contestants ,the judges. Expressing one's opinion is different than humiliation. This one site was away from it. But not anymore.
Dear Aspi I have been a regular in your space and have always appreciated the way people here have been outrageously humorous yet decent in their posts and comments. Manish is a very creative person no doubt, I fully appreciate his efforts and creativity. I also appreciate his frustration at the nauseating antiques of HR at Saregamapa. In fact there are times when I feel like walking up to him and shutting his gaps firmly with a scotch tape and shoving up an umbrella up his you know what and opening it. However in his recent burlesque avtar I think Manish has gone a little overboard. The tagline “where there are pigs there are Oinks and Oniks” is in real bad taste. I feel calling Aneek or Oink/Onik (as some love to call him) a pig is just an uncalled for gesture. I understand you are pissed off with HR, so am I, but for that why would you call an eighteen year old a pig?? Aneek has been a consistent performer at saregama ( the only one with no “bad day” so far) and has belted out some gems like In Dino, Bulla, Janey Kya Man, Apney ..just to name a few. VS the most respected and neutral judges of the competition heaped praise on him and most interestingly, even die hard Raja fans acknowledged this same Aneek’s talent when in a recent poll in rajahasan.com, Aneek won hands down as the only competitor whom raja fan would like to see in the finals with raja. So what is it that Aneek has done to be called a pig and have a poster hinting him to the pink pig of HR making rounds all over the internet?? I wonder!! Does that make you laugh?? I wonder!! The best part is Aneek has benefited a zilch from the HR antics…I have never come across a person who has ever cast a vote for Aneek just because of the stupid love story. Have You?? But I have come across thousands who have stopped voting for him and ultimately started hating him just for HR. I find it really disappointing to find people of the caliber of Manish protesting against HR in the most HR like manner. Believe me, it has got nothing to do with Aneek as such, if somebody came up a similar poster with Raja, Amanat or any other contestant my reactions would have been the same.
There is a fine line between being funny and being gross and it is a tough job maintaining it. Dear Manish, just take a seconds break and reflect. If you feel there is some merit in what I have said, then please make the necessary amends at the poster. We all go overboard once in a while but the trick lies in accepting it and rectifying. That is what that makes us more Human and less HR. The choice is absolutely yours Best wishes (I have shared my real name and id just in case people feel like creating another poster or start a chain of hate mails)
And Aspi! I expected a wee bit discretion from you buddy!! yours forever fan Bong Hits The Bong
That was incredibly funny...! The truth is the person with the last laugh is HR, coz he’s laughing all the way to the bank. I think he’s a brilliant salesman, one that can sell snow to the Eskimos and he has his finger on the pulse of the janta like no one else right now. As for Aneek, it’s not his fault that he is in the HR camp. But he does seem (and appearances are all we can go by) to be playing along with HR's antics and that makes him an easy target. It doesn't take away from his phenomenal talent as a singer but it does make him the bull's eye for such jokes. For all we know, he'll soon be laughing all the way to the bank just like HR is .....in which case the joke will definitely be on us.
It is intended to be a joke --- albeit a somewhat cruel one. Clearly not everyone sees it that way so I wouldn't want to get into any protracted arguments on it.
Please remove the offending poster immediately. As member of the Pig Lovers' Society, I would like to register my strongest possible objection to such cute pigs being compared to either Mr. Himesh Reshammiya or Mr. Aneek Dhar. This is an insult to such a glorious species.
Point taken Megan! In the absence of thicker skin I prefer not be here....Thank you manish, aspi and all the extremely funny people here, you have been successful in curing one of my addictions... Bye
my, first time i see things heating up so much on this site....cmon guys cool it.....Hey India has won the t20 match, so lets forget all thats happened and look forward to lots of entertainment this weekend...cricket,ii2,voi,srgmp...lots to choose from....
Bong, I keep telling my kids to see the positive side of things and find the goodness in everyone....and my advice to you is the same......there may have been one article which has offended you, but there have been so many more which have entertained u....u have registered ur protest, and we accept ur views....but u dont have to take it so seriously......i hope u cool down, and return to enjoy the fun here.
gin, no one is a troll for coming down here and voicing their disapproval. And neither are you. In fact, I deal with so many people who tend to go behind my back and say things that I am grateful for this directness.
Enough people find this funny that I don't feel like forcing the issue and removing the post. But I'll be happy to do it if most people think we crossed the line.
But with Bhtb, we seemed to have touched something deep down in there. Aneek is my favorite but I wasn't remotely pissed that Manish was going after him :)
Now Anu you really sound like my grand mom! and amazingly have the same soothing effect on me....I was just kidding dear, quitting drift is easy, just like quitting cigarette, I have done it so many times...
I have a better idea. Let the title in the poster remain. Instead of that cute pig picture how about Manish's picture? And also this marks the downfall of Aspi's site.

All last week Bappi didn't sing something in that sweet voice of his. I'm looking forward to it this week. One of these days, I hope he sings the Gunmaster G-9 song.
Joules, there is no way to put sequence numbers on comments in Blogger although I know why you are asking - makes it easy to reference specific comments.
Talking about Bhappi da singing the last word would be his "you r my chicken fry" Sure you have heard it but couldn't help dedicating this master piece to all you wonderful people at "Drift" For the uninitiated, try the link at great bongs page....Bon Appetite !!

First off, my comment that spoke of trolls was a tongue in cheek reference to a brief exchange that Aspi and I had about IP tracking. No harm meant.
However, it is disconcerting to see how many people post under the 'anonymous' tag because, I mean, well couldn't you just make up a name or something? IT would lead to less confusion around here, and internet rules dictate that you immediately become proportionally more relatable with a handle.

First off, the object of laughs in the poster is not the pig, it's HR.
A pig in one culture is not what a pig is another culture. Ask any person that saw the movie Babe...Pig was sooo cute and Pig was the hero. I acknowledge that Aneek fans are offended bacuse of how they "perceived" the pig and what it represents to them. I also think that Manish had the right to post something that was done in the spirit of creativity. I for one have learned something from these exchanges, so keep coming back, guys.
At the risk of sounding patronizing I'll say that I'm hugely impressed with how this discussion turned out. Too often I've seen people get personally abusive and lose control. But the people who were pissed did it forcefully but with decency and the rest made their point heard.
Anu g, middle child kya? Your skills of negotiating a disagreement are extraordinary.
Also I have to second Sania's opinion on Anonymous posts. There are NO restrictions on comments so take a leaf out of Megan's book. She makes up a name almost every comment :). Feel free to make one up when you post.
My dear Minnie How I wish I were the "GREAT BONG" himself...but alas I am a different Bong and that too a bong hitting bong.. a very "less" bong I must say. a "pigi pigi bong bong" may be..Lol Don't take me seriously dear! I too love to enjoy the moments as they come dear, and when I don't blame the "bong" (looks at his bong and exclaims..I must change the stuff I smoke!) Peace And Most certainly Manisha and Rakhi do have feelings...so do I Mam! and I feel in a very special kind of way about them....ha ha ha
On the contrary, Aspi, was the younger pampered child! Being catapulted at a very young age, into the role of a 'badi bahu' ala Tulsi and Parvati(I m not sure whether they r negative these days, I am talking of the old-days)and living in a joint family for some years, and now the mother of two early teenagers has made me painfully aware of the fact that it requires just one small spark to ignite the atmosphere.....I think i tend to over-react at times, but I think its better to diffuse tensions before it gets out of hand. So though I am years away from being a grandma, I feel like one!
Manish's Oink has topped the semifinals beating the "Dibhaine Bhoish" Raja this time. It seems calling names does help only sometimes it helps the other way about Thank you Manish for all your creativity! Keeps up the good job! try calling him a Monkey next time, or a mouse, or may be your next poster should be a la " Revenge of the Pink Panther" ..Ooops! should it be the Pig Panther? Plz...continue the good job ..Oink needs you just as Raja needs HR... Bravo!
Random people with terrible criteria for what is kosher infest every community site. I've had a run-in with a couple of poster with major attitude problems from Sepia Mutiny - and this after one of their own asked me to post my stuff to their site.
I have loved this site and come her to enjoy its wacky humorous post. But I guess, one can cut the 18 year old some slack and stop comparing him to a pig. Won't elaborate further as Bong hits the bong has pretty much voiced my sentiments.

It is intended to be a joke --- albeit a somewhat cruel one. Clearly not everyone sees it that way so I wouldn't want to get into any protracted arguments on it.
Come on guys, this is all in jest.
No one is comparing Aneek to anyone. It is just making fun of HR's movie and the way he calls Onik.
I think its clever and funny.

Dear Joules you are absolutely entitled to have and opinion but again as they say, opinions may differ...so may taste, culture and upbringing
Bad joke indeed..not funny either..:-( and no i am not a troll
Anon, agreed.

Hi
Minne, Hope you are all right after such a porcine night! Sure Sigmund would have come up some real weird explanation of your pig dreams…thank god he is dead! I surely couldn’t agree more to you about taking good humour But as you rightly pointed the humour had to be good.
And for your generalization about anything that makes you laugh cant be all that bad …let me draw your attention to some incidents... …think of the time when the real fat guy slipped on the banana skin and landed on the floor with a flop in most hilarious manner, you couldn’t stop laughing till you realized the poor guys bones were jutting out of his broken wrist…or say the time when that Madari on some obscure Indian street asked his Bandar “Sharukh sey shadi karogi?” and the cute monkey decked up as a doll shook her little head vigorously to show her eagerness and the crowd went in splits…you chose not to laugh knowing the poor creature shook its head just to ensure that it is not beaten after the show. Not to mention Charlie the tramp’s comical actions which seldom failed to bring out some of the deepest pathos….by the way I also remember the Mahabharata mentioning that majority of the dignitaries at Duryodhan’s court were laughing their heart out when Draupadi’s sari was being tugged at…..surely they found it funny in their own way…. was it bad?? We had our lowest traffic of the week yesterday. Not that it matters, I'm just saying.
In case anyone is interested, apart from the kind people who stop by here regularly, the traffic peaks Sat/Sun and goes back down again.

it's cool that we have such an age range in this blog's fans.
age range??????I said I only 'feel' like a grandma:).
**Spoilers**
Manish's Oink has topped the semifinals beating the "Dibhaine Bhoish" Raja this time.
It seems calling names does help only sometimes it helps the other way about
Thank you Manish for all your creativity!
Keeps up the good job! try calling him a Monkey next time, or a mouse, or may be your next poster should be a la " Revenge of the Pink Panther" ..Ooops! should it be the Pig Panther?
Plz...continue the good job ..Oink needs you just as Raja needs HR...

Random people with terrible criteria for what is kosher infest every community site. I've had a run-in with a couple of poster with major attitude problems from Sepia Mutiny - and this after one of their own asked me to post my stuff to their site.
i didn't even now about sepia mutiny.. fark the name is hilarious!! i just wike-ed it
is it worth going there to spread my shekhar love?
Try, they take themselves extremely seriously.

I have loved this site and come her to enjoy its wacky humorous post.
But I guess, one can cut the 18 year old some slack and stop comparing him to a pig.
Won't elaborate further as Bong hits the bong has pretty much voiced my sentiments.
Notice the 'Oniks'.....lol...can we have a pic of him too in the poster??
lol thats the average IQ of Himesh fans summed up right there ^^^^
Hahaha...lol...yea...all Hima$$ fans....hey aspi..how can i post some nice creative pics on de topic??
Anon, I'm deleting your comment because of the cuss words. Next time try to *** the middle out and we'll still get the message.
But I've got kids stopping by this blog. Rupal might kick my ass for letting stuff like this on here.
And so will Hima$$....Btw Aspi, does he visit this page??
