Bollywood Singers: The best of the Drift

Joules wants to know: "Who are the Drifters' favourite singers in Bollywood? I like Sukhwinder Singh, Sonu Nigam and Kunal G. Love Atif's voice although some of his songs sound similar."

These days I'm all over Rafaqat Ali Khan in Aaja Nachle (review coming up soon). And Richa Sharma has been on the list ever since she sang Maahi Ve.

ritha said...

oo i have to finish aja nachle...first 1-2 songs seemed terribly boring...but whenever i spot rahat fateh ali khan or someone sounding like tht, i try and listen to those. Aspi, wht Maahi ve are u talking of?

sanjay..yup sholosi is amazing...wen i herd it first i tght twas Adnan Sami....such similar voices..

Sanjay said...

hey everybody seems to have forgeten shaan , he is one of the most faboulous singer and host alike ..

Sania said...

So, I'm almost embarassed to admit this, but I really like Mika's voice. Every song I've found myself humming over and over again lately is his.

And while I would like to scrub every mention of Vishal & Shekhar from this blog, I must admit that Vishal's voice is extremely underrated. Listen to Saiyyan from the TaraPum ablum - it's lovely. I also like Neeraj Sridhar who has a calming voice - VS use him a lot.

As for females, I find that even Sunidhi can get annoying. I don't really unconditionally like any of the female singers who are out there right now. Although I like Alisha's voice a lot. And Anushka Manchanda who sang Naughty Naughy in Cash has an amazing husky voice that I really like.

Joules said...

One of my favourite songs is Zara Zara from Rehna hai tere dil mein.

I have always wondered who she was (ofcourse I am too lazy to search the internet) and if she has sung anything else.

Harsh & Raw said...

@Joules,
She's "Bombay" Jayshree, a very accomplished Carnatic vocalist.

@Sania,
That's the same Anushka who was in that girl band Viva. (Whatever happened to them?)

@Aspi,
I like Shreya Ghosal for the sweetness in her voice (and for the absence of screechiness). I totally dig Richa Sharma...waayyyy more than Jaspinder Narula...btw whatever happened to her? Richa Sharma's voice has this SMOOTHNESS when it jumps from note to note in a murki or alaap, whereas Narula would make it kind of jerky. I also like Nusrat/Rahat/Rafaqat, Sukhwinder Singh, Sonu Nigam and Shaan.

-H&R

Kanan said...

I've liked Richa Sharma since the days of Zubeida. She is the singer of the immortal thumri "saiyan chhodo mori baiyan". And if you've never heard it before, you've missed out on one of THE best thumris of HFM. In the ghazal singers, I adore Farida Khanum. The "aaj jaane ki zid na karo" fame. In qawwali singers, my fav are Ahmed Hussain & Mohd. Hussain in this era.

I have to admit I sort of got bored of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan after a couple of songs. It was that Kalyug track "jiya dhadak jaaye". Oh so boring after you listen to it twice.

I've always liked Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan and of course Sonu Nigam (he's the best we have right now). And Udit Narayan sounds like he has sardi/zukham 24-7. And so does Aditya. (I'm sorry fans) I'm tired of Alka Yagnik as well. Just same old style, nothing new and no classical quality to her voice.

New singers whom I'd like to listen to more are the singers of "tose naina laage" from Anwar - Kshitij, Shilpa Rao.

My other favorite is Kavita Krishnamurthy. I love her semi-classical songs. If you haven't ever heard them, listen to the songs of film Bhairavi and then of course we have some of her recent works like the new Devdas. Vinod Rathod has an awesome voice too, but it's sad we don't get to listen to him that often and there aren't many music directors that would utilize his voice.

Hariharan is alright. I only like certain songs of him and I think that's because of other aspects and not his voice. I also like a very few songs of singers like Roop Kumar Rathod, Abhijit and Kumar Sanu but not all. Alisha Chinai is another one I can't tolerate along with that other gal Rageshwari. I think she acted in a film with Govinda and Salman Khan? And all these new kids on the blocks, Mika, Chika, etc. I can't stand 'em. At least for now. ;) I am not even courageous to play a song by them. And I think one of the reasons I liked Sa Re Ga Ma Pa this year was for the same reason because I got to discover new good songs because those kids were singing them and not their original singers. There are so many songs that I like of the contestants than their original singers. Can't wait till I get to listen to more of my fav SRGMP lot.

Thanks Aspi for this post.

boy , i liked anu malik as a singer , the only singer who can sing from lungs ,...

just listen to

do me a favour , lets play holi

from waqt . .he has to the legendary singer after the one and only Ashok Kumar

Remember

Ban ki chiriya ban ke ude ,, or something like that

SkD said...

Huh...Anu Malik???I consider him an unsuccessful type cast of Himesh..yea...he used his lungs...oonchi hai buildin..lift teri bandh hai...wat crap?come by stairs damn it...
Ashok kumar sand the song "main ban ke ban ka pancchi ban ban dooooolloooooo re" from Achyut kanya sumwhere in early 1930s..[correct me if im wrong]

infact, not many guys know dat during those days we had legendary singers like Noorjahan and Shamshad begum...[early 30s onwards]...much b4 Lata M..and apparently Lata used to ape their 'nasal' tone in de beginning of her career...

Hmmmmmm...so Himesh is not the only Nasal dude here..we have a rich history...which means Himesh was technically right in stating stuff bout Panchamda....ahem ..I better not sound like HkD..but hey....dey didnt have the preceding OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOS and OUUUUUS....

Aspi said...

Kanan: Thanks Aspi for this post.

Thanks Joules for this idea!

Anonymous said...

yes , there was also a group of singers , who sang something like

chandu ke mama ne chandu ki mami ko ..

that become quite famous those days ..

and they have a short name something like aspi..

am i insane ,, forgetting so many things.. guys put the necessary commas , correct speclling mistakes and please bear for the wrong names ..

Saritha said...

Interesting idea,Joules!

I love Kavita Krishnamoorthy,Sunudhi,Shreya and Richa Sharma among the female voices.'Mahi ve' is very special to me and so is Richa.I didn't know anything abt her until I heard her live on Sony(for some charity show)- just like Sunidhi, her live perf was as scintillating as the recorded version.

Most of the male voices sound similar these days. There's something abt Kunal's voice that fascinates me.It's like a soft blankie.Sukhwinder,Sonu and Shaan are safe bet, anyday.I like Shankar too.

As far the rahat/nusrat category-I went back to listen to the originals only after hearing Mussarat on SRGMP.It was more fun watching these contestants interpret each song in their own way.

Anonymous said...

you guys are not missing something here , there is one more guy who does not sound like other guys at all. refer to saritha post...

remember tadap tadap ...

aspi which list he is in

i like that Yeh hosla guy's voice.. i can't stand that Ganjawala dude, he annoys me

Alka = kareli

i don't mind shreya ghoshal, she has sung some really good songs ..she is good

sunidhi is everywhere and is getting in my nerves, every second song is sung by her

sonu i think is overrated

i like vishal's voice.. MANLY

shekhu as much as i love the dude but his voice brings nothing new to the table

i like zubeen and the pothead who sang bheegi bheegi. he should sing more often

Anonymous said...

i think abhijeet sawant the first indian idol winner is also quite good , was just listening to his junoon , it sounds quite good actually

oh i love sukhwinder's voice

Male Singers - All old ones including, Kishorda, Rafi, Mukesh. Newer ones - Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Adnan Sami, Shekhar

Female Singers - Old ones include: Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle. Newer ones - Sunidhi, Alka Yagnik...

We forgot everyone's favorite...Himesh!! JK!! No way in hell does he make the cut!

m said...

oh zubeen has sung the song as well? COOL imma download it

i love that song

at the risk of getting ostrasized by this blog forever, i must say this

I can't stand Lata M's voice at times, this morning while driving to college i played my hindi playlist and i recently downloaded the song that goes

"do lafon ki hai yeh kahani" the one with amore blah blah at the start, picturized in a gondola with Big B..

when Lataji started singing my speaker went "KRAAAAAAAAA"
i had to reduce the volume cuz what if the other cars could hear it...

however in saying that i admit that she is a legend and is held in high regard etc etc and has many good songs

Anonymous said...

did some one mention , key key guys he is a faboulous singer who sang pal yeh hai pyar ke pal and sohniye from aksar .. i think he should also be there .. though he does'nt seems to be singing much

m said...

OMG HOW COULD I FORGET KK

sorry KK...

yeah he's the best Bollywood singer i think and is way better than sonus, shaans etc

Anonymous said...

but wasn't do lafzon ki sung by asha

m said...

was it asha Tai?? I TAKE IT BACK THEN.. asha tai is cool.. and she is allowed to have a bad day

but not just that song man, there are many songs from Lata M that sounds good on TV cuz they're good songs and are picturized well but when i play them in a good stereo or my ipod/car then OMG hurts my ear drums..too shreiky..

my brother can't stand bollywood songs for precisely this reason and he is really weird, like when we watch these singing shows, he throws a tantrum and refuses to sit through even 5 mins with us.

He has the Gogol syndrome - you know hates anything desi

SkD said...

Meg, U have must've really hurt Shekhoo by tat commnet cuz hez out and out a music guy...mebbe fer many girls hez eye candy...but hmmmm..i like his singing:)

seems like no body likes kumar sanu , bappi da and anuradha paudwal here

i am a disco dancer..

m said...

skd, well i commented on his "singing" which to me isn't extraordinary..its my opinion i am sure he is mature enough to understand people have differing opinions

I love him as a music composer etc but i don't find anything special in his singing

ritha said...

actually bappida was pretty cool in his 'ol disco #s. Never liked anuradha paudwal's voice...i term it equal to the zero calorie sweetner. Technically sweet but evidently lacking something.
M & skd i am no fan of shekhar's voice, but i thot in "I see you" 'kehna hai jo' sounded perfect in his voice.
Aspi...waiting for ur aaja nachle review!

Anonymous said...

remember watching megans mahia video .. there was a pakistani singer singing that song , she also sounds pritty chirpy

m said...

no love for salma agha? she's our distant relative LOL

Anonymous said...

I was in studio once and heard Anuradha Paudwal sing. Felt somebody trying to sing. Could not be heard even with the mike? The studio guys told me she was not feeling well. She has good knowledge in music but her voice is too shrill. I definitely like Sunidhi. If Lata M and Asha were going strong like before I do not think Sunidhi would have had any chance. Also Alisha,KK,Kunal,Shaan,Sonu is one of the best singers. At least the female singers now do not sound the same. Each one have thier own style. Otherwise Lata and Asha was the only voice you can hear Or the ones trying to imitate them. Lata P

Sania said...

Aw, I like Anuradha Paudwal.

I also like KK and Kunal. I like Rabbi Shergill a lot. Who sang Ek Pal Ke Liye? I think it was KK, that was a good song.

Hm.. seems like Megan and I have much of the same taste. I haven't been able to listen to certain songs on my car stereo after work either. I find myself flipping through the CD changer as I'm driving home at night and looking for singers who don't have a high pitched voice. Mostly I land on Atif, but only because I need to change up the CDs in my car. [I think he's kind of besura].

Sania said...

I thought Shekhar did a good job in Aazmaale from Taxi 9211.

Saritha said...

I used to like Lucky ali's melancholy voice. What ever happenend to him?Adnan sounds good sometimes.

As much as I hate abhijeet on voi now,'tum dil ki dhadkan mein'(sad version)was one of my fav songs.

Saritha said...

Totally agree,'Aazmale' is underrated. And the song was okeyed in a single take,I believe.(read somewhere)

m said...

sania, why don't you buy a carkit for your ipod? that way you don't have to change CDs.

m said...

yes he was great in aazmale aazmale.. i love that song.. in fact i loved the whole taxi 9211 album.. Really underrated

Anonymous said...

yeah lucky ali is surely A class material ,but he seems to have lost in the jungle of bollywood , remember ek pal ka jeena and kya kehti hai pawan from knph

Aspi said...

Because Bappida sang the greatest song in the history of Bollywood "Gunmaster G-9" - recently homaged by Raja in the SRGMP Grand finale - he is beyond discussion.

Sania, Ek Pal (assuming you are talking about the song from Ankahee) was done by both KK and Sonu (apart from Shreya).

Megan, I never did have much love for Lata, but Asha was pretty cool till lately. One of our friends growing up had a cassette of that ONE Salma Agha song playing over and over again. And he would drive me around everywhere in Mumbai. That pretty much killed my love for her voice.

m said...

this may sound weird but whenever i listen to songs that have been sung in SRGMP before by any of the contestants.. i end up bobbing my head the same way as shekhar at the exact same point in the song

thats crazy eh?

also when i listen to any of the fan vids i made i end up doing the same..

Aspi said...

Taxi 9211 is a criminally underrated album. And its even got Bappi in it in full form! Besht!

Manish said...

Bappi lahiri, Vijay Benedict and and anybody who sang for Mithun.

Saritha said...

What I liked abt 'Aazmale' is that it takes the movie forward which is a huge plus for bolly flicks these days where songs are inserted at regular intervals. The song has subtle,non-preachy message and Shekhar's simplistic approach did wonders,I feel.I expected him to sing it on SRGMP.

I dont know why the movie failed at BO,but I liked both the music and the movie.

m said...

saritha, Taxi 9211 did average business i think..it wasn't a failure at all..

I loved the movie.. it is def underrated.. aspi, you need to do a post on underrated mvoies in bollywood

another album of VS thats terribly underrated is Shabd..

overrated albums of VS = Tara pum Pum and Salam Namaste.. Whenever they do big banner movies, they don't get enough creative freedom and the albums end up being very mediocre..

m said...

srk said this about our boys VS
"I don’t. Rahman would’ve been fantastic but I think Vishal-Shekhar have done the best job of their career so far."

umm whats he smoking?? (please don't say Karan Johar)

I don't think OSO is their career best but i doubt srk would have heard their other albums

Sania said...

I agreethat Tara Pum Pum and Salaam Namaste were overrated but there were some amazing songs on those albums that were completely overlooked. As I mentioned above, Saiyyan from TPP, and from S|N Tu Jahaan is a beautiful song. Not to mention I like My Dil Goes Mmm. It was catchy.

Sania said...

Agreed that OSO is by no means their career best, but I think they've really tried to fit the Farah Khan mould, filling the footsteps of one Mr. Anu Malik. (Main Hoon Na, however, was *his* career best, my opinion). And AR Rahman in a Farah Khan movie? SRK is surely on crack.

BTW - Mauja Hi Mauja from JWM is firmly entrenched in my head. I've been singing it under my breath while walking down the hallways at work.

m said...

what does mauja mean? i might download that album sometime..

pritam has some catchy songs and albums but somehow something about his songs that sounds very "manufactured" if you know what i mean? its almost as if he produces them in a factory. He does too many movies. Same with Himesh's soundtracks.

I always feel like they compose songs (say 10-20 of them) and then when they get movie offers somehow use those songs. Am i making sense?

like where's the creativity? you need to make music to suit the mood of the movie..

i like oso and the songs are too situational so in the context of the movie they will be AWESOME..

but lately i cannot enjoy the songs because i picturize Shahrukh khan whenever i hear the songs and that isn't a pleasant feeling.

Anonymous said...

mauja means maja or to enjoy , agree with u on pictuization of oso completly

musing said...

I need to get of this fruit flavored tea stuff!! Dozed the whole day at office and missed all this interesting discussion. You guys are cool, my idols !! talking about singers and songs during work time. Now that's what life is about :))

I don't like Bappi, he should try singing in falsetto I think ;)

Also, Saw no mention of Suresh Wadkar the judge for lil champs
currently!!

Well enough work done, time to go home..bye guys :)

Anonymous said...

Great going Megan. Now we don't have to worry about musing's ramblings. Now can you do the same to skd?

m said...

hmm what did i do? are you mocking me or like complimenting?

another good singer is that guy who sang in Awarapan soundtrack..

To Phir Aao.. he had a unique voice as well.. very contemporary..

oh and the annie girl, she sang

"shake what yo momma gave you.." and some other songs, she has a nice contemporary voice as well.

I also loved Hard Kaur (lol the name cracks me up) who sang Move your body in Johnny Gaddar..she is some British desi rapper or something..

gosh so many diff singers in Bollywood, you kinda wonder if thats a good thing for good singers in reality shows or a bad thing

Kanan said...

Oops! Yes Aspi, I forgot to thank Joules for suggesting this fantastic topic. Btw, good to read comments with recos from fellow music fans.

I didn't know until today that Lucky Ali is Meena Kumari's nephew. Aspi, I forgot to mention and agree with you, Mahalaxmi has some great songs to her credit. Good command over her vocals and it's apparent she is classically trained. I like her songs.

Speaking of the B-list singers, Vasundhara Das has also got some new numbers. A few years back when I found out she was a singer, I was quite surprised to find out she is the same light-eyed gal from Monsoon Wedding.

And then of course whole bunch of those singers who are actually regional singers but do sing for HFM once in a while and then the Music Directors turned singers. But I won't go there right now. That's a topic for a whole another post. In fact, I think we can do one post for each of those singers. No, I won't name any names here for obvious reasons. LOL!

Anonymous said...

yes aspi a post on singers like
anand raj anand , adesh shrivastav ,Mithoon , AR rehman ,VS ,RD, SD and some other unnamed guys is a very good idea

and yes please include anu malik

m said...

lol i wonder why MDs sing? to save money? or to be in the limelight? or because they want the creative freedom?

musing said...

Nothing like a glass of rasam to clean the sinuses and get the neurons firing.

Hey, Sachin da was out of this world (if not then, now definitely), so was Pancham Da. I pillion attended Vishal Dadlani's concerts with pentagram..he is a good singer and I am sure will make a mark.

Hmmmm...why do MD's sing? About Himesh, I know why he does..God told me all about it. The rest ? MD's are alike coaches they can guide but can't perform...so they perform once in a while to show that they can do a good performance too, but prefer to do more creative things like compose.

The exception is Himesh, he sings sublime music to usher in beauty and goodness in this earth.

Cheers Himesh *raises sambhar glass*

Joules and Aspi, kudos for the topic and for opening up the post. It's helped to mercifully refocus comments on something we can ALL bond together on :)

Drifters, very interesting and fun comments - too many to single out. I'm with the folks that like non- screechy, bold female voices. May the tribe of Richa, Sunidhi and Rekha rapidly increase. I've long believed that the sell by dates of not only Lata M's but also Asha B's voices are loooooong past! Also love it when classical musicians wander into film music. Wish Bombay Jayashree, Parveen Sultana and Shubha Mudgal did more film music.

Among the male voices, I'm with the Sonu fan brigade. In my book, he's the most versatile of the lot and he works magic with the lower notes of the scale, something many male voices struggle with. Also like Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhwinder and the classically trained brigade of Pakistani singers - esp. Rahat and shafqat.

For all of u Alisha fans, I'm curious about what u find appealing abt her singing. I'm not calling anyone out - truly just interested :P . To me she seems to lack in range and goes falsetto to hit high notes. I suspect her studio recordings are just well engineered and she is incapable of replicating it in a live concert. But then I maybe missing something ---- so I'm open to being educated :)

Aspi said...

Sidekick, I think with Alisha - when she did Tinka Tinka, possibly V-S's greatest accomplishment - she blew me away with her smoky voice. I think if she hadn't been there Sunidhi might have been a little insecure about continuing down the path she was going.

Producers - most recently Pritam on Raqeeb - have used her to sing complicated songs. And she does well in all of them. You are right in that she is limited. But it isn't her range I like, its her ability to challenge traditional Indian female singing.

Aspi said...

BTW, anyone else digging the music of Dhoka? Most excellent!

Mind Rush said...

All my fave singers have been mentioned already.

Honestly, being old school (or just old?) sometimes I like the lyrics than the singing itself.

My favorite lyricists? Gulzar and Javed Akhtar.

Sidekick said...

aspi, thanks! truth be told i've only heard her popular stuff - the made in india album, kajra re, its rocking and such like. as for tinka tinka, its defi an unconventional melody, so props to V-S for that. the reason i don't think alisha is all that is perfectly illustrated by this song. apart fm her lack of range, her sensuality in this song --- that smoky feel, seems forced and deliberate. in contrast with say rekha bharadwaj in the atmospheric phook de or even namak fm omkara where the sensuality seems more organic to the tonal quality of the singer. and perhaps this is what accounts for differences in tastes!!! for sure though, i need to give alisha a fresh listen minus the preconceived notions :) . if she indeed blazed the trail for sunidhi and her ilk to follow, for that alone alisha gets my unabashed appreciation :)

anu g said...

I am quite surprised only a couple of people mentioned Abhijeet(thanks saritha and anon). I know I am going to get some flak for this.Hey, think of him pre-music-show-judge-time.He has a very unique voice,u can generally recognise his voice. He adds that something extra to a song which makes it his trademark.(Isnt that what VOI is all about). My daughter is a great fan of him, and therefore all of us. We went for one of his live shows last year, and were left more impressed. He has a very strong and powerful voice, never goes besura even on live shows, and keeps the audience involved all the time. He sang some old Kishoreda songs, and they were also superb. There are so many singers these days who sing a few famous songs, but Abhijeet has a trademark voice. One of his songs which is not well known is from Gangster or Woh Lame, am not sure.....'Lamha Lamha Doori.....". Diwakar sang it on SRGMP too. Its a lovely song.KK is also an underrated singer. There r many other good singers, but I am talking about Abhijeet cos hardly anyone else has.

Aspi said...

anu g, you have a good point. I've heard Abhijit sing live and he is definitely the most surila singer when singing live.

anu g said...

Aspi, Abhijeet is surila even when he is not singing live!!

ritha said...

hey i like 'tanhayi' from dhoka alot.

Aspi said...

Which Dhoka, Ritha? The one I'm listening to doesn't have that song.

anu g, Abijit was very surila in Roshni Se from Asoka.

Sania said...

anu g, it's really funny you say that! I was listening to my iPod this evening after posting on the Drift, and Lamha Lamha Doorie came up -- and I thought to myself, I forgot Abhijeet! And you're absolutely right, there's never any mistaking his voice.

With all the flak he is getting for SVOI, I'm not surprised many forgot him, but to me he is totally the voice of Shah Rukh Khan. in the same way Udit Narayan is the voice of Aamir Khan.

I see a new blogger option - email follow up comments - interesting! Not that I'm going to check it, that's what Bloglines is for.

Aspi said...

I'm glad Google is doing something about comments. That darn thing is so neglected I could write a book on it.

M.M.kreem is from Hyderabad(ahem) and the music director for the 'tu mile dil khile' song. His name is actually Keeravani. I think he changed it to sound Hindi-filmi-like!!!

Saritha said...

True anu,MM Kreem sounds rather funny.I dont know what's wrong with a nice name like Keeravani. He composed some good tunes for 'Paheli',Shreya won the national award for it.

And thanks for reminding me that Abhijeet sang 'lamha lamha'...how could i forget that?My other favs are "Chaand taare" and "Main koi aisa geet"

Now,what is Shekhar Suman doing on VoI?Is he a singer????

Aspi said...

Kreem also did Saaya. Hmmm...I'll have to do a post on Dhoka so we can talk about it.

Aspi said...

Shekhar Suman has a single with a rather funny video out called Rubaroo. More here.

Saritha!!!!Dont u know!He has turned singer!!!He just came out with an album(or maybe its on its way). And he was the one who inspired Himesh to work out, and make him think that one has to have muscles to sing well!!!

Saritha said...

oh dear! And I thought one needs to work on the vocal muscles.....I guess Iam living on Mars and my neighbour is Aadesh.

Aspi,r u talking abt Pooja's Dhoka?(man, that sounds like she betrayed someone)

oops i meant 'roya re' instead of 'tanhayi' from dhokha...since the song starts with tanhayi i assumed tht was the title :D

I like MM Kreem's songs but did u know he just rips many of his original versions? He is actually a well established MD in South (telugu film industry)and his real name is M M Keeravani. Some of his best songs in hindi are actually rips offs from his telugu compositions. Apparently "dheere jalna" (Paheli), "guzar na jaye"(Rog),"saansein madham hain" etc. were all unoriginal. Was a bit disappointed to know he recycles.

thanks ritha didn't know that..

another singer that really impressed me was Glenn John. He sang a song in Woh Lamhe (great album, also a great movie)

The song is called "Tu Jo Nahin hai toh kush bhi nahin hai". What happened to him? does anyone know of him?

That was the best song in the whole soundtrack but somehow went unnoticed.

Did he get one song in the "minority quota"?? will we not hear from him for another 5 years? LOL

Aspi said...

That was the best song in the album, but Glenn John got that break because his daddy composed the song and contributed it to the soundtrack. Otherwise breaks are hard to come by for Pakistani singers given that there are so many of them around anyway.

Aspi,I am not sure if u know , but a new music reality show has begun on Sahara One Called Jhoom India. I dont get the channel, but I watched parts of it on the news...One celebrity sings with one singer....U must watch it if u can.Its just the ideal stage for u to use all ur witty comments.....man, most of them sing really horribly! And the bonus???Shabana is one of the judges and yes, she came up with the 'Bahut undha'!!!!Please watch it for our sakes, so we can enjoy all the ripping apart!Doesnt feel good saying things about kids on Leetle Champs, but this will be fun!!!

Speking of Pakistani singers....wat do u think about Mekaal, and Ali Azmat..as well as Mizmaar??I really like Pakistanni rock....btw, i herd Amanat Ali is gonna join Mekaal Hasan Band....is it true?
