Now this reminds me of the time when I used to read Stardust during my teenage years and wonder "Wow! Our stars are really popular in America". Later I learned that it wasn't that Bollywood had grown in favor - it was just that the desi population abroad had exploded. But I digress.
Next up, Himesh's new look for Karzzz - check it out here (Thanks, HKD). The three extra zzzs in the title are to balance numerology. Now if the movie turns out to be a turkey, knives will be sharpened over the zzzs. But hey its Himanshu composing, singing, acting and in all likelihood dancing! What could possibly go wrong!

Himanshu better hope that the extra zzzs don't subconsciously prime the audience to catch some zzzs in the theatre! i love his movie titles - A Love Issshtory is another one good for a few laughs.
Joules, HKD, thanks for bringing Himanshu back into driftji's life. i suspect he's been suffering fm withdrawal symptoms :D
oh wow...that is one awesome look! hah! he kinda looks like that actor emraan hashmi.
Ok I am hoping our man wins the sabse fave kaun naya hero.
I want to hear his acceptance speech and then relish the zoom in on all the industry people squirming while trying to keep their camera face.
Since this is a junta poll I am sure Himanshu will milk it for all its worth.
Yes, Payal...agree wid u...awesome look.......err..my hatred for him is reducin bit by bit...LOL
Sidekick ,thats exactly what I felt....the zzz may make the audience go zzz....tho I guess with fans like Aspi, thats not going to happen:).
aspi why are there no posts on chote ustad and lil champs/I personally liked the Zee show better till now ...now tho' I still like the judges more(I think Shreya cant dish out comments suitable enough for kids ..she judges them to adult standards) but the participants on star are older and MUCH better!
And also on Aamir's presence on lil champs. I really enjoyed Sonu bringing his diary from 1988 which had magazine clippings of Aamir. Aamir was also my first crush and I remember having some of the same posters that Sonu had.
Saw "Manorama Six Feet Under" over the weekend, thought I would recommend it to the drifters.
This is a first movie of its kind based on the noir genre, inspired and loosely based on Roman Polanski's Chinatown.
The movie is a story of a somewhat corrupt pwd employee SV (Abhay Deol) who is bored with is ho-humdrum life and is a one time unsuccessful mystery novel writer. In his life comes Manorama (Sarika) a local bigwigs wife who wants him to spy on her husband. The tag line of the movie is "In the Desert, Nothing is What it Seems".
The movie unfolds slowly and may get boring for some people but I liked the slowness as you could see SV's mind working to solve the mysteries and you almost felt like you were in his shoes trying to solve the crime.
The movie was shot in Rajasthan and the camera has captured it beautifully. Acting by everyone is great and is not too dramatic to over shadow the script.
Movie is not for kids. It does'nt have much violence but the story is an adult one.
Joules, I thought the movie was awfully short of the greatness it promised. Lots of loopholes in the plot. I mean "Manorama...age 32"?? And to top it, when I realized what "6 ft under" was, i couldn't connect why there were these unnecessary clues. Maybe that is typical of the genre you mentioned, but it didn't work for me :( Gul Panag & Vinay Pathak were awesome!
Himanshu is back!!!! THat man cannot stay away from the limelight for very long, can he? I guess that's good for us, it's good, free entertainment. Also, it makes Aspi happy so we're all happy! I have to say, I have been going thru the Himesh-drama withdrawl myself...a few more interviews of him and a few appearences is all it takes to make me happy! :D
haha , Himmy again? The comments above are hilarious. And why are we calling him Himanshu? :S
skd: agree wid u...awesome look.......err..my hatred for him is reducin bit by bit...LOL No, girl noo! Get your arse back on track! Look at that pervalicious lick of hair creeping at the back, and we don't even need to see that super waxed cleavage. My Milky way threatens to make its way back up my throat.
Joules: I agree, Manorama is an awesome, awesome film. Well shot and fantastically understated.
And I also loved aamir's appearance on Lil champs. Rarely get to catch it anymore, but he was worth it. And I liked his and Aditya's lil duet:)
He's aged well. God, I remember first seeing Qayamat... young love, so sweet...
hmmm..yeaaaa..why Himanshu?
minnie, Tania's post on Lil Champs is about to go up soon!
Tania and Anon, his name is probably Himanshu because he's been called that on SRGMP before by Kalyanji. Himmesh might be a nickname that he kept.
Come on guys, I know you all love Himanshu. How could you not? Those long hair, shaved chest, girlie jeans, the need for love and attention.
A lot of my love for Himanshu comes partly from the fact that he's terrific tacky entertainment but also there is a part of me that wants to flip the bird to pseudo-intellectual industry snobs who look down on him because he makes dance music catered towards younger people.
Aamir and Juhi in QSQT,......oh don't even start there,I feel a sudden urge to watch the movie, now.chooo cute.
As a music director I think he is decent. I loved his Tere Naam and Ahista Ahista and definitely enjoyed Aashiq Banaya Apne and Aksar. Also thought Aap ka Suroor: the movie music was quite good.
Infact Anu Malik was mad at him because the movie Humko Deewana kar Gaye had one song that was superhit and that was composed and sung by Himesh. Its a title song and is enjoyable.
I do think Karzzzz music will be a huge challenge for him. Every track in the original was awesome.
Sorry aspi for taking away attention from Himanshu....I just read an article where they say Prashant Tamang is rocking the US. Have any drifters seen his shows?
