Aditya Chopra is looking for a Young Indian Girl to play opposite his next directorial venture opposite ,no prizes for guessing,40 something Sharukh Khan.

Any one interested?

PS:I thought the whole idea of casting a girl to play the lead who is half the age((sometimes,it could be one-third) of the hero is strictly restricted to Southern Cinema.Guess I am wrong.

Aspi said...

Aditya Chopra is looking for a fair, pretty, young girl with an athletic body

Why does he need someone athletic? The last time a Bollywood actress had to run around in a movie was when Ranjit was in his prime.

sidekick said...

Go ISB! Thats great.

tut, tut - the gals now do martial arts, kick ass stunts, guard supeheroes, et al. aspi, u are so stuck in the 70s when the heroines were screaming bachao while fleeing villains who were frothing at the mouth! i concede though that none of that explains why Adi Chopra's brand of candy floss romances will need tough and athletic babes.

Aspi said...

Quite true - why even Zeenat kicked major ass in Don way back then.

Saritha, cheers to Hyderabad!ISB is making us proud!
Hyderabad is also in the news cos the Pak captain Shoaib malik is sposed to have been married to a hyderabadi girl(love marriage), now he says he was only engaged, and has broken it.Her dad is crying foul saying that his major objection was that she was obese, and she spent huge amounts of money and time in hospitals due to botched-up liposuction. Well, I guess cricketers r always in the news.

anu g said...

Aspi, u were curious once to know who Vaibhavi's valentine was.It was ruhttp://www.mid-day.com/web/guest/entertainment/bollywoodmoured then.More news here.

Saritha, watch out for much more of SRK.I am told he makes most of his income from sources other than his acting in films. And now that he has bought Team-Kolkata-ipl at an exhorbitant rate, he is going to invade the media to earn some moola.

Aspi said...

Boy a part of me is thrilled to see Himanshu's wife finally but somehow I wish they'd leave her alone.

anu g said...

U seem to be forgetting that cute roly-poly son of Himesh! Its just that he has been so secretive (until the Kofee with Karan episode, people didnt even know he was married) that people r even more inquisitive.I guess now that people have seen his wife/son, no-ones going to bother too much.

anu g strikes again with some good g!

that pic was interesting. this may be uncharitable but I wonder if himanshu is being strategic abt his rather un-glam family. the khaata peeta khandaan doesn't exactly add much luster to his rising superstar rep.... then again maybe he is just detective of them from cruel, prying eyes like mine!

Saritha said...

Thanks for sharing that priceless pic with us,anu.

Sidekick,I feel ditto :)

anu g said...

Sidekick, hie, welcome back. Havent seen u since quite some time.Btw, Whats the 'good 'g'?
Saritha, u and I think similarly about Himanshu. The H-fan-brigade led by Aspi is going to be upset that we r being 'uncharitable' about him.

sidekick said...

hey anu g, i've been around - it was just a quiet weekend at the drift i think.

the good g = the good gossip :)

Aspi said...

I think Sidekick has it right: Himesh is being indignant about privacy because he can't afford to be seen with some ghee-tel type people around him.

anu g, I'm only upset if Himesh doesn't show up to entertain me in some way on a regular basis. Outside that, everything else is fair game.

I will warn you, he does sing several times with a good bit of repetition.

sidekick said...

Never thought I'd say this --- but I've missed anu malik's utterly entertaining crassness! Never mind the besura singing and shameless self-aggrandizement, the part that hooked me was his forgiveness of Farah for leaving him out of OSO. Anyone else with a modicum of grace and dignity might have graciously said he loved working with Farah the first time, hopes he can do so again and wished her and VS all the best. But not Anu Malik. Clearly he is smarting fm the slight. Farah has acknowledged that Anu got on her nerves during II2 and hence she sent him into vanvaas during OSO. So he turns this around and makes it Farah's gunaah and magnificently forgives her for the error of her ways thanks to the love he has for her..... Got to love that!

anu g said...

Boy, as soon as he got asked the Farah question, our man assumed the defensive posture, i.e. folded arms across his chest.

leera said...

True that. His train-bhikaari medley was by far my favorite, harmonium and all.
Wonder why all the musical celebrities on that show get asked the himesh question? Hope they will interview the man himself soon.

Here's another interview so full of the fun quotes that we all love. Rakhi Sawant meets the begum with baliye in tow and roundly admonishes Saif/Kareena for their love-chakkar.

Ok here's a pretty candid ajay-kajol interview.
kajol is a joy as always, ajay devgan is fidgety and a little moody but he redeems himself with some sensible remarks. Chiranjeevi's daughter and beau make an appearance only to be gently ribbed by the ever funny kajol.
For all V-day haters, warning, it is a V-day love special. Not gag-worthy though.
http://www.buzz18.com/videos/videos/watch-ajay-kajol-talk-about-love/38981

anu g said...

Leera thanks so much for the link. Kajol is one of my favourites, and its such a relief to see someone so normal and articulate who speaks straight from the heart. What a stark contrast to Ash who is pretty but talks very prim-n-propah english with lots of very hi-funda sounding words. Kajol 's loud laugh is so much better than Ash;s irritating giggle/cackle?
I was pleasantly surprised to see Ajay Devgan talk about positivity and true love.Wah!I am certainly going to see this movie!
I am looking forward to tonite's episode of Lilchamps with Kajol.

leera said...

I love Kajol as well. She might not be the best dressed, or the best bikini bod but she has more presence than abhiwariya combined.
That interview was well done, I got a a sense of the sensible, practical couple that they are. I loved Pyaar to hona hi tha and it still remains one of my top romantic movies. So I will give this movie a watch as well.

Ok so while I was catching up on Dhoom macha de this afternoon, I came across one of the most bizarre elimination episodes ever.
After baba sehgal was announced as the 'dhoom star' of the week (?????)
he was invited to perform as an added opportunity to garner votes for next week.
It started off as a as a ho-hum rendition of the now overplayed in 'puja pandals' across india - Dil me baji guitar.Soon baba magnanimously invited one of the original singers babul supriyo and all the other contestants on stage with him.
After a few second of polite reluctance, it soon morphed into an impromptu jam session of musical mikes and antakshari ending with Shankar mahadevan belting out the now ubiqutious kajrare.
Now contrived or not it was fun to compare the other singers side by side, and poor baba sehgal came up a little short.

The Khiladi Kumar Interview

I'm ashamed to admit that normally I dismiss the khiladi in a snobby "His movies are trashy" sort of way! But this interview suprised me - he came across as a "gentlemen joe", no starry airs ;). Also showed off a couple of cool self-defense moves to a girl in the audience.

Aspi, we need a new March linkology. Also can't seem to comment in firefox, but IE allws me to comment. Any ideas on demystifying this?

Aspi said...

sidekick thanks for the link. I'm learning bad taste in movies doesn't preclude general decency kind of like all intelligent people aren't always democrats.

The March linkology is up - seamless if you use the frontpage to leave links (all of which I appreciate!)

I use Firefox and IE and both seem to work fine. As always, empty out your cache and try if you don't mind. Tools -> Options -> Network -> Clear Now and also Tools -> Privacy -> Clearn Now...

by the way akshay def had an affair with priyanka. But it didn't last long because he didn't want to leave his wife and son.

I hear a lot about the married actors having affairs in Bollywood. I wonder if the same applies to their women. The law of averages say it would. But in an industry where everyone talks - how come some of this stuff gets picked up papers and some doesn't. There seems to be some sort of unwritten code.
