The Bollywood MJ Tribute Video

Its pointless reviewing a tribute song - they tend to be more about the occasion than the music. But I will say that against all odds I liked this a lot. Also, a chance to see some of India's biggest singers in action in one place. And hey there are some actors in there too.

The song was written by Vishal Dadlani, composed by Vishal and Shekhar, produced by Red Chillies Idiot Box and the video was directed by Samar Khan. It goes live on TV-based music channels on the 29th.

I love having multiple singers sing in the same song because its great to figure out the relative capabilities of a singer.

It's fab! They sang well and Prabhudeva rocks as always :-D Not to be catty but the actors in the beginning sounded really goody goody and cheesy instead of genuine :p

Those actors so did not need to be there. I would have been happier if there had been some singers who had done that part. I can't imagine Katrina being super-inspired by MJ.

I would have loved to see Sunidhi Chauhan in the video as well..

Aspi, here's another video with multiple singers and their children :-)

Deepa thx for the link. Who's the singer in the red odhni? Couldn't figure that out. Others - easily recognized.

Aspi, that's Sapna Mukherjee - the oye oye girl.. Not to be heard much these days..

Hells bells - didn't know much about her at all. Thanks for the education :)

Lol.. yeah she had a few hits to her name - the Tridev song being one of them and then just faded away.. :-)

Aspi, this has nothing to do with MJ's tribute video or the use of multiple singers - although it does have Shankar Mahadevan and Sukhwinder Singh at their best, but I just wondered if you've ever seen this video..

I just love this one.. I saw it on TV on one of my visits to India. It was part of the Lead India Campaign two years ago... As with everything else, the enthusiasm to 'Lead India' seems to have died down :-( But I do think it's a fantastic song and a very inspiring video..
